Good Evening from a sunny and warm West Lodge,
I am sending out a mid week newsletter as we have some important events coming up over the next two weeks.
Firstly of course is the Beer Festival with fun for all the family, this coming Saturday the 17th June. This year we have moved everything from the Clubhouse down to Pitch 1 with marqees in case it rains. Beer, ciders, prosecco, wine, BBQ, other food outlets, live music and entertainment for the Kids. Tickets are priced at £8 and kids go free and are avilable at the door on the day. Support the Club on this great Fun day.
The Club AGM takes place on Monday 19th June at 7.00pm. We have decided to postpone the EGM to amend the Constitution until a date later in August/early September. The amendments were to bring the Constitution into line with modern practice regarding accessibility, gender, race etc but we did not give the statutory one months notice of the EGM plus did not publicise the admendments in the correct manner. These amendments are required by outside funding sources and will have to be included in our Constitution in order to have access to these free funds. So come along to the AGM and take part in the future of your Club.
On the 23rd June, Mike Palmer reports that:
U13 & U14 pitch 3 fundraiser is on Fri 23rd June 6.30 til late.We are having a family “Pull-along Race Night”.£5 entry on the door which includes a burger from the BBQ.Great fun for all ages.
Michael Gillman, our International Ticket Convenor, has in his possession the applications for tickets for the Autumn and Six Nations Home Internationals. If you are not already on his mailing list and are interested in tickets please contact me and I will pass your details on to Michael.
The First Lions Test is on 24th June and Percy has organised : Despite the mixed results of the tour so far, we will all enter the 1st test (SATURDAY 24th JUNE) of the Lions series with a degree of optimism. We will be open to show the game with both the bar and kitchen open from 8am ready to offer you some cold refreshments and some breakfast options. We will continue to do this for the second and third tests, but only if enough folk turn up to make it worthwhile. Please support your club by getting up to support the Lions and enjoying a pint and a bacon roll!
Fingers Crossed for a sunny Beer Festival.
