Good Evening from a dark, sharp West Lodge,
You are not mistaken, it is not Friday and I am sending the newsletter tonight as I am unable to do so tomorrow.
On Saturday 1st XV rugby returns to West Lodge with another tough game, this time our opponents are Peebles. We were at the wrong end of a high scoring game last week at Cupar but we managed an all important four try bonus point. With the way the league is shaping every point gained is vital in our quest for survival in BT N2. The kick off on Saturday is at the new winter time of 2pm and your support on the touchline will be most welcome.
Aberdeenshire have withdrawn from the league owing to lack of players and internal issues. All their league games have been declared void and the table altered to reflect this. Preston Lodge are now in 11th place, one point below us in the relegation spot, so all to play for in the remainder of the season.
The 2nds and u18s are in action after the disappointment of last weeks matches being called off owing to no referee and no opposition respectively. The 2s are away to Allan Glens and the u18s away to Livingston.
On Sunday the u15s and u16s travel to Livingston with the u13s and u14s at home. The Minis are away to Dalziel with a 10.15am meet and 10.45am ko. East Kilbride are also taking part.
On Friday 10th November we are playing our re-arranged 1st XV league game v Hamilton under the floodlights at West Lodge with a 7.30pm ko.
The squash teams were in action again with only the 1st team losing against the league leaders. That means that 4 out of the 5 teams won this week – another great effort from the squash section.
November is a busy month for Social activities at the Club:
On Friday 17th November the club sees its first ‘Ladies Night’ (informally referred to as the Prosecco night!)
Tickets are on sale for £10 per head which includes 2 glasses of prosecco, buffet and entertainment (music and dancing!). We have also booked various beauticians, retailers and hair stylist to offer treatments ranging from nails, eyebrows and massage to palm reading, glitter hair extensions and glitter lips (for a small fee), fashion show and opportunity to purchase some early Christmas gifts! There will be a raffle and tombola and of course copious amounts of prosecco. It’s perfect for a group night out or even one or two friends as there will be plenty of ladies there for socialising!
The serious side to this is the drive to raise funds not only for club improvements but also to support the youth & Ladies sections in the club.
Tickets available by contacting Rachel Fishlock (email@example.com tel 07752624142) or Heather (tel 07506 505670)
On Saturday the 18th November the u18s are holding a race night. Tickets are a mere £5 and it is going to be an entertaining and fun night with music, food and plenty of racing to bet on! We would welcome you all along (kids are welcome as well).
Please see Under 18 team manager Chris Porteous for tickets or alternatively, they are available behind the bar at the Club.
The St Andrews Ball is on Saturday 25th November and a few tables remain. Please contact Percy for further details.
This week’s newsletter sponsor is Glendinning Pharmacy located on the Ayr Road. Please support them as they support us.
Sorry that this has been long one this week but we have a lot of information to get out there.
Have a great weekend and good luck to all Craigs teams.
