Good Morning from a dull but dry West Lodge,
The 1st XV return to West Lodge after two weeks away from home. Both games resulted in defeat but there were signs of improvement last Saturday at Burnbrae. We lost 21-15 but were in the game for the full 80 minutes and competed well in every facet of the game. We got an all important loss bonus point and hopefully tomorrow will see further improvement. The visitors tomorrow are Preston Lodge who have had a good start to the season with two wins and one defeat to Dumfries. It is sure to be a tight, fully contested game, so please come down and support the boys.
The 2nd XV are away to Greenock after agreeing to reversing the fixture because of pitch availability.
There are no Conference games this weekend owing to the September weekend holiday.
The Minis are away to Kilmarnock with a 12 noon start at Bellsland.
Our Clubhouse is now 20 years old and in some areas is showing the signs of wear and tear. We will endeavour to address these areas over a period of time. However everyone can play a part in making sure that West Lodge looks appealing to our visitors and fellow members. Do not walk past litter/bottles/papercups or anything else – pick it up and put in a bin. We employ cleaners for inside the Clubhouse but we do not employ anyone to tidy up the outside area. A major area of mess is grass from boots inside the clubhouse. Please ensure that all boots are removed in the lounge and sports bar areas. If everyone does a small bit, it will make a difference. It is your Club so look after it.
The pitch 3 works proceed slowly with the floodlights pylons to be erected in the next two weeks.
This week’s newsletter sponsor is Piccolina & Vino an Italian restaurant at the Broomvale Shops on the Old Mearns Road. From personal experience – good food, great service and great atmosphere. Please support our Sponsors as they support us. A full list of sposnors can be found on our web site www.whitecraigs.org
Have a great weekend.
