Good Morning from a pretty miserable West Lodge,
Well that is the Beer Festival over for another year and were we not lucky with the weather!
Thanks to the main man Percy for his massive feat of organisation and to all those who assisted him before, during and after the event. Every year the Festival grows and it is obvious that if we wish to maximise our revenue, we have to have more volunteers to assist on the actual day. The jobs are not heavy lifting but more the selling of the tokens, manning the door and staffing of our own Club stalls. These stalls are where we make our real money and it is imperative that these are run properly to maximise our opportunities. So as usual, I will making pleas for assistance nearer next year’s event and hopefully the members will respond in a very positive fashion.
Tomorrow is the First Lions Test and the Club is open from 8.00am for breakfast and refreshments. This is open to all members including children so please come along and enjoy what is sure to be an absorbing contest.
Tonight there is a Pitch 3 Fundraiser which Mike Palmer is organising and all are welcome.
Today’s newsletter sponsor is GAP Group who provided all the fencing, generators, toilets and other hardware for the Beer Festival. Thanks to Neil Dunning for the organisation and GAP Group for their support of the Club.
The Club AGM took place on Monday night and there is no change in the executive positions – President Jon Jewitt, Vice President Craig Percival, Hon Treasurer Douglas Emery and Hon Secretary Graeme Scott. Thanks to the members who turned out to make it a larger than normal audience. Normally the AGM could be held in telephone box.
The 100 Club is still on the go and we are always looking for new participants. It is £10 per month and the prizes are currently £200 , £100 and £50 per month. The more people involved the bigger the prizes. Contact me for further details.
The newsletter will be issued over the next couple of months but on an irregular basis because of club activities and holidays. The Club is open during July and August and it needs your support. If you are off on holiday, enjoy the break and we look forward to seeing back at West Lodge.
