Good Morning from a sunny and warm West Lodge,
No rugby action to report but there is still training taking place for the various sections taking place, please contact your relevant coach for details. The Club Fun Day was hugely successful with great numbers partcipating.
The Mini section had their Fund raiser for the Pitch 3 works and raised £725. This makes the total raised so far to £3350. There are more section events over the next few weeks so keep up the pressure to raise the cash for the floodlights and pitch improvements.
As you may have seen over the past week, a number of senior players have been tirelessly working around the club and completing many odd-jobs that have been waiting years. Having filled a skip load of rubbish as well as filling over a dozens bin bags of litter, there should certainly be a lot more space in the club. A much needed coat of paint has been put on our beer garden fence and benches so why not enjoy a pint in the sun in the fresh new benches. Many thanks go out to all the players who helped. Please help us maintain this standard of cleanliness around the club. Also remember, we always need joiners, electricians and plumbers so if you have any trades or could volunteer for any odd-jobs around the club, please let Percy or Graeme know.
This week’s sponsor is Orr Fire Protection who sponsor the squash section. We run three male and one female team. We also compete in the National Squash league and are the only non racquet ball sports Club to do so in Scotland.
The next big Event is the much anticipated Beer Festival on the 17th June. Early bird tickets are available from behind the bar at £5 instead of £8.
The Club AGM is on Monday 19th June at 7pm.
Enjoy the sunshine today as unfortunately it is not due to last the weekend.
