Craigs News 3rd April

Good Afternoon for a pretty bleak and depressing West Lodge,
I hope you are all keeping safe, social distancing and obeying the Government’s instructions during this awful time.
The Club is closed and will be until restrictions are lifted, some unknown time in the future. We regret this but we are aware of the terrible consequences for transmitting this virus from person to person and we are strictly following Government guidelines.
The only news I have on the rugby front is that we will still be playing in National 2 next season as all leagues were declared null and void earlier in the week. Who knows when next season will commence. However there is a negative for us, as the 2nd XV will not get promotion after winning their league so convincingly. Before the season was declared null and void, a wide ranging consultation was taken amongst all the leagues in Scotland the majority opinion was that the season should be a null and void.
For those of you who follow Whitecraigs on social media channels, I note that fitness challenges have been made and I would encourage you to take part. We have posted messages to say that we are able to help anyone from within our Community as we have a willing band of young volunteers. If you are or know of anyone requiring some assistance, please contact Percy – president@whitecraigs.org.
We have mothballed the Clubhouse as much as we possible can and there will be a much reduced grounds maintenance programme over the coming months. Your membership is vital to us and your continued support is needed to sustain the viability of the Club during this period. We will endeavour to keep you in the loop with any information over the next few weeks.
Please keep safe and thanks to all our members and their families who are working on the front line in medical, social care and other vital areas during this difficult time.
Graeme
