Craigs News 7th/8th March

Good Evening from a crisp West Lodge,
Club rugby hopefully returns this weekend after the horrendous spell of weather we have endured over the past month.
The 1st XV take the trip along the M8 to take on promotion candidates Stewarts Melville which is certain to be a tough game for our lads. One thing is for sure is that, we may be stuck at the wrong end of the league, the team will not give up and keep trying no matter the opposition. One of the great things about Stew Mels is that the great Lions and Scotland Captain is very active in the Club and looks after the Senior rugby sides. It is heartening to see his efforts in putting something back into his Club.
The Rhinos make one of their rare appearances with a home game against the GHA Lions and the Cartha Camels (not their real name just made it up) – sounds like escapees from Edinburgh Zoo are playing at West Lodge at 13.00. Anyone wishing a game please bring your boots or if you wish a beer and want to watch marginally faster than walking rugby, you will be made very welcome. I am sure the bar will be busy with not so great chat and tales from yester year. All great fun and it is what our sport is all about.
Thanks to all those who pitched up for the Disco 70’s Fever. By all accounts a great night and greater marker for the Panthers ABBA Tribute night on the 28th March. Tickets from behind the Bar. Please support these Club functions as we need the money and also it builds Club spirit.
Scotland play France on Sunday at 15.00 and the new TV in the lounge has gone down well and the sound issues have been rectified. We have now connected the tv to the overhead speakers so the whole room will hear the game.
Only a brief message this week so enjoy the weekend and try and pop in to the Club on Saturday and Sunday, You will be very welcome.
Graeme
