Craigs News 8th/9th October
Good afternoon from a calm reasonable day at West Lodge
This weekend the majority of our teams are competing against Biggar. The 1st XV are away at Hartree Mill and looking to atone from their home defeat to Preston Lodge, last Saturday. It was a game of two halves and it was only in the second half that Craigs played with the determination that they have shown all season. However owing to a resolute defence and some poor decision making we were not able to make up the first half deficit. So tomorrow is a chance to make amends but it will not be an easy task as Biggar are a difficult side to beat especially on their home turf. Bus leaves at 12 noon.
The 2nds are at home to Clydebank. The under18s are also away to Biggar with a 2pm ko.
On Sunday the Micros are training at the usual time. The Minis are away to Lenzie. The S1 and S2 teams are home to Biggar and the u15 and u16 teams are away to Biggar.
Whitecraigs are keen to promote an initiative through Alzheimer Scotland called “Rugby Memories” to offer members, friends of members, neighbours to participate in monthly/weekly sessions at the Club to reminisce on rugby stories. Other Clubs have had great results inviting people who have been involved in the game to their clubhouses who have suffered from memory loss and Alzheimer’s Disease to recall players, teams, ties and stories from the past. Trained volunteers will be on hand to start and stimulate the debate. What a better way to offer a much needed service to the Community. If you are interested in volunteering, or know anyone who would benefit from this experience, please contact Jon Jewitt at jon@jawarchitects.co.uk.
