No Boots in the Clubhouse and especially the Lounge
Yesterday was the first full day of rugby and it was evident by the grass that was left on the lounge carpet no boots were taken off when entering the Clubhouse. This excess of grass takes a lot of time to clean up and increases our cleaning costs together with complaints for Club members. This would not be allowed to happen at home and the same should be applicable at the Rugby Club. Your co-operation would be greatly appreciated.
One of our sponsors is Mearns Castle Golf Academy and they have given us a superb rate of £10 per person for the our Golf Outing on Sunday 30th September. There is a sheet up on the notice board so please add your name. Great to see so many Senior rugby players on the sheet. More information will be available nearer the date.
I am always looking for content for Craigs News so if you have anything you wish to be circulated to the wider Whitecraigs family, please contact me.
Please support our sponsors. It is vital that we support them as they provide much needed financial support to the Club.
We hope you enjoyed the return to training on Sunday. We are back in full swing this week with training tonight (Wednesday 22nd) at 7pm. Training for one hour.
On Sunday we host Garnock at West Lodge. We will meet at 11am for a warm up with an 11.30 kick off.
As ever kids should bring water and gumshield to both.
On another note:
If you missed registration day last Sunday, can you please approach and notify the coach, who will then be able to supply the relevant forms required by the club.
We will be sending out information over the next week about electronic player registration, player development, fixtures etc. It is therefore important not only for the club finances that we have everyone’s correct contact details etc.
See you tonight, yours in rugby,
After a well earned summer break, the Micros section return to training with our annual registration day on Sunday 19th August 2018.
We ask that you come to the big hall for 11am where the team will greet you and take you through the membership and registration process.
Thereafter, we will head down to the pitches and get back to the action with some training finishing at approximately 12.30pm.
As ever, our sections are run by volunteer coaches and due to a few moving up with their children to P4, we ask that any and all parents in Micros step forward to assist with coaching and managing the boys at this level. The club will assist and put you through your PVG and entry level Rugby Qualifications. All you need to do is ask one of our other volunteers who will direct you (before we start asking you!).
Look forward to seeing you all again ahead of another fun and enjoyable season at Whitecraigs.
Craig “Percy” Percival
The Whitecraigs Rhino’s team, are on over 35’s team. We train on Tuesday night from 7pm, Tuesday the 14th being the starting date.
We’re always looking for new players, whether you have played before or just fancy trying it out, please come along and join us.
We only train once a week due to work commitments etc, all other training is left to you. We try to have one game a month, which at our age, gives us plenty of time to recover. We’re a very sociable team who always try to have a well earned beer after a game.
To start playing, you’ll need some rugby boots, sports wear (not expensive stuff, just in case it gets ripped) and some deep heat for the warmup.
The Whitecraigs rugby kit (shorts, socks etc) can be purchased from PSL in Hillington industrial estate. Sometimes there is a deal for players at the start of the season, so come along first before buying anything.
For all current players, we hope to see you on the pitch for 7pm on Tuesday the 14th August.
See you then, yours in rugby,
On Sunday we are back to rugby with a light training session after helping with the annual Rugby Force day
This Sunday is the Rugby Force day when we get the club looking as good as possible for the coming season and it starts at 10am.
We’re asking you to come along at 10 to help out with all the little tasks that go together to make West Lodge looks its best. After an hour of helping out, we’ll convene on pitch 3 (with its new floodlights!) and go through a light training session and get the kids back in the rugby mood prior to next week’s registration day.
There’s a lot of changes this year which should make the games even more enjoyable for the kids.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM WEDNESDAY 15TH AUGUST TO MONDAY 20TH AUGUST THE LEFT AND RIGHT HAND SIDE OUTSIDE CAR PARKS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR USE.
WE ARE HOSTING 35 MOTORHOMES/CARAVANS WHO WILL BE USING OUR SITE DURING THE WORLD PIPE BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS.
WE REALISE THAT THIS MAY CAUSE SOME INCONVENIENCE FOR OUR MEMBERS AND GUESTS DURING THIS PERIOD FOR WHICH WE APOLOGISE.
WE WILL BE RECEIVING APPROXIMTELY £1200 RENT FOR THE USE OF OUR SITE.
THESE VEHICLES WILL BE COMING FROM ALL OVER THE UK AND IRELAND SO PLEASE MAKE SURE OUR VISITORS RECEIVED IN A FRIENDLY FASHION.
9TH AUGUST 2018
New player management system introduced by the SRU.
Scottish Rugby is now using a new player registration system called SCRUMS, having switched from the previous system at the end of the 2017/18 season. SCRUMS has been developed to provide a modern, integrated set-up to record member information for those involved with rugby in Scotland.
ALL PLAYERS (AGED 8 AND OVER) AND CLUB OFFICIALS, ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER WITH SCRUMS OTHERWISE THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPRESENT WHITECRAIGS RUGBY CLUB.
Please click on the following link to begin the registration process.
All the information that you require is contained in the attached documents. However, If you have any questions, please contact Brandon – firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
Email Verification – when a player or parent provides their email address, they will receive an automated message from SCRUMS to confirm that the email address provided is a valid one. This email will request the player / parent to click on a link to verify their email address. Some email servers have been rejecting these automated verification emails and we are working to resolve this. Please do not worry if you or any players / parents / club officials have not received these. If an email address has not been verified in the system it will not prevent a player from being fully registered and we will resend verification emails once the issues have been fixed.
