Our U18 squad are signing off their season this Saturday in the West Regional Shield Final against Ayr. This is sure to be a huge test for Head Coach Tonci and his troops and all touchline support will be welcomed.
The kick off will be at 10.00 and luckily for us the game is at West Lodge!

Good Morning from a very sunny West Lodge on Good Friday,
The 15 a side Senior season is completed but that does not mean that rugby stops at Whitecraigs.
The under 18 and under 16 sides are training hard this weekend for their respective finals next weekend. Further details regarding venues and times will be posted during the week. Please come down and support the boys as they finish their season in style.
On Sunday the u13/14 teams will be training at 11.00am, the u15 boys will be in the gym at 11.00am. As normal, please check with your coaches for any clarification.
The Minis are off this weekend as they are rolling their eggs on Easter Sunday.
The end of season Player’s bunfight, sorry Dinner, takes place next Saturday 27th April. If you wish to be included please let Percy know by Tuesday, the cost is £20. The dress code is not your Sunday best!

The Sporting Dinner is taking place on Friday 21st June. The speakers are Roger Baird (ex Scotland, British Lion & Kelso), David Orr (Professional Golfer) and Bobby Shaw (ex policeman and very amusing raconteur). The tickets are priced at £60 per head. Tartan Touch starts on Wednesday 1st May at 7.00pm. This is rugby for all ages, genders and abilities and EVERYONE is welcome. Please see website and social media for all details.

I am sadden to report the death of past Club member and previous Club sponsor, Eric N Smith.
Eric was well known locally as he had his business, Eric N Smith Jewellers, opposite the Avenue for many years and only recently closed the business on his retirement. He was a renowned jewellery designer and won many awards for his creations. He was well known to many of the older members of the Club. Our sympathies are with his wife, Yvonne, at this very sad time.
A memorial service will take place at Glasgow Cathedral on Thursday 11th April at 11.30 am. to which all are invited. Black ties requested.

Club Commission
Club commission generated through online sales or Scotland Season Passes during season 18/19 is expected to be paid in June. We will be in touch to update you nearer the time.
Membership Services Team
I would also like to take the opportunity to update you as to some changes within the ticketing team at BT Murrayfield. Many of you have worked closely with Linda and Lynn over the years and I am delighted to advise that Linda and Lynn will continue to look after the day to day management of our prior rights groups, of which clubs is a large part of. Linda and Lynn now form part of the Membership Services team, led by Christine Horsburgh. Many of you may have met Christine, having worked for with us for a few years now. Christine will look after the strategic management of the Membership Services function of our business and looks forward to working with you all.

Summer Tests 2019
With the Rugby World Cup taking place from September-October, there will be no Autumn Tests in 2019. Instead, Scotland’s final preparation for the tournament in Japan will be home and away fixtures against France and Georgia. The game against France offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy international rugby in the summer sunshine, while the Georgia game is the first ever Scotland Test to played on a Friday evening.
Having reviewed the process along with the sales from the last two years we held summer tests, we have concluded that the best way for your club members to purchase tickets for these two games is via the online URL. Many of your members are familiar with this process now, having signed up for a ticketing account during the past season or so.
This is a flexible option, allowing club members to buy at their leisure and print at home right up until kick off for each of the games. Club commission will be generated for your club on individual match tickets for the Summer Tests by using the Club URLs found in the club toolkit or on the Scottish Rugby Website. Please let us know if you foresee any issues with this.

Guinness Six Nations 2020
The application process for home Guinness Six Nations games will continue to be the same as it was during season 18/19 and the club ticket toolkit will be updated with the relevant downloadable documents by June and we will contact you when these are available to be downloaded. The deadline for home 6 Nations 2020 club ticket applications will be mid-September in order to confirm bookings and process tickets as efficiently as possible. Pricing for the away 6 Nations matches in 2020 is expected mid to late August and applications forms will be circulated as soon as this is known.

Beer lovers in the Mearns, rejoice! The Whitecraigs RFC Beer Festival returns this summer!
…. And we have a date for the social calendar that is sure to make you smile! Saturday, August 17!
A chance to celebrate the best of everything Scottish, the beer festival will showcase the best artisan tipples Scotland has to offer.
Running over one jam-packed session, the day will offer up plenty of beers, fine wine, gin, cider and top quality street food, with live music and entertainment making it a not-to-miss event.
An over-18s event, children are welcome but not catered for. Tickets cost £8 and the day runs from 12pm –7pm. Watch this space for more information soon

Good Morning from the sunny and clear blue skies of the Canaries,
You will gather from the above I am not in Glasgow but on holiday and by the wonders of modern technology mean that I am still able to produce the weekly newsletter,
Tomorrow is the end of the season for the 1st XV with an away game to Dumfries Saints. It is has been a tough season for them as injuries and unavailability have taken their toll and exposing our lack of depth in the Senior section. Those who have taken the field have tried their best and this experience will be of great benefit to the younger members of the squad. Any points tomorrow could ease the anxiety of potential relegation.
The 2nd XV are away to Lenzie and both games have a 3.00pm kick off.
When I was at Biggar last weekend I managed to view the last 15 minutes of the under 18 side beating a strong Biggar side 29-22 to get to the final of the Shield. This was a fantastic victory away from home and sets up a final at West Lodge on the 27th April against Ayr/Wellington. More details will follow nearer the time. Well done to all those involved.
The under 16 side are through to the Plate Final versus Ardrossan on the 28th April and the under 15 side have to wait till 5th May to play their Shield final against either Birkmyre or Waysiders/Drumpellier. Well done to both teams.
No Minis this week because of the School holidays.
Squash season now over and the sign up for the Club Championships will open shortly with the finals expected mid-May.
The senior and u18 players End of Season Awards Dinner will be held on Saturday 27th April. For more details and if you are interested in attending contact Percy.
