The newest section formed at Whitecraigs Rugby Club sees the start of a Woman and Girls rugby team. The self-named “Whitecraigs Panthers” are a vibrant and growing section of the club.
Training is on Wednesday evenings from 7.00pm – 8.30pm and numbers are growing each week. We hope that this will develop over time to include additional training and matches.
The training is open to all ages and all abilities and we welcome all newcomers to join and experience this journey with us. We are currently playing non-contact touch rugby but will seek to teach the necessary skills to develop this over time into a fully competitive squad.
The section has numerous UKCC Level 2 qualified coaches, including Jon Jewitt, Iain Campbell and Craig Stevenson who provide invaluable help and guidance to teach the touch and contract forms of the game to suit individual needs.
Our captain and leader, Rachel Fishlock, is readily approachable and welcoming. She can be contacted by email at r.fishlock830@btinternet.com if you have any questions or queries relating to the section.
Whether you want to join as a player, supporter or coach, we would welcome everyone along.
We would encourage all Women and Girls of any age and ability to come along and try it out.
You won’t know how much you love it until you try it!
