Our pitches have been floodlit since we moved from Deaconsbank in 1997 but by the early 2020’s the old sodium lights were not only in need of major repair but they were expensive and no longer sustainable.

The Board and Club agreed to proceed with a major LED upgrade programme and applied for financial support from the East Renfrewshire Renewable Energy Fund (ERREF).  That application was successful and we received a generous grant that, together with a loan from a benefactor helped us to fund the upgrade project.  We commissioned Interlink Lighting to undertake the work and it was completed in the summer of 2023.  We celebrated the new lights with an official switch-on night on the 2nd of September 2023 and the lights were turned on by Councillor Owen O’Donnell of East Renfrewshire Council.

The players and coaches now enjoy excellent floodlit facilities on all 3 pitches; this not only helps the rugby club but all other users of our grounds during the dark winter nights.  We are very grateful to ERREF and our other funders for their generous support in helping us to make these much-needed improvements.
